My experience fighting this boss was that any time I pushed it back up against the cliff, it immediately got a free action which it used to push my party backwards. This happened several times in a row. If it is possible to push the Chocobo Eater off the cliff, how is it done?
Also, out of curiosity, is it actually possible to be pushed backwards off the cliff by this boss? What happens if this occurs? Forced to take the Mi'ihen Old Road?

pushed off you side of the cliff
thats exactly what happens you must take the old road altho there are different cutscenes depending if you beat him or lose (pushed off dying wont trigger the cutscence you will just get gameover) if you do lose your relationship with auron is made alot worse (use to choose who throws the ball in tidus's blitz ace overdrive not many people have auron throwing the ball anyway).

.
It takes 1500 or something damage to knock it down. I've found that if it has 2 turns in a row after it gets knocked down, it immediately gets up and pushes the party back. <_<, annoying.
