Go back to the previous room and climb the ladder on the right. Run up the jutting spar to reach the upper level and go right. Go forward into the cave-like opening where you'll fight Adel trying to absorb Rinoa. Avoid hitting Rinoa and heal her if necessary because it is game over if she dies. After Adel is defeated, reality will go all wonky. When you're back in control, touch the save point in front of you and then go through the door. You'll have to fight a long series of Sorceress (I) and Sorceress (II) culminating in Sorceress (III). Afterward, you'll find yourself at Edea's House. Head to the beach where you'll see Ultimecia's Castle appear in the sky. Go down and then climb the monstrous chain anchored there. On the left side of the chain are 3 doors which you can reach by pressing [X] to jump over to them. The 1st door leads to Galbadia - Wilburn Hill near the destroyed missile base. The 2nd door leads to Centra - Serengetti Plains near the Centra Ruins. The 3rd door leads to Esthar - Grandidi Forest near the final Chocobo Forest. You can find the Ragnarok through the 2nd or 3rd door by locating a chocobo forest and using a chocobo to cross the sea through the shallows to the Kashkabald Desert. There is 4th door near the Ragnarok. Going through it will cause an additional door to appear on the chain leading into Ultimecia's Castle. |

When you first enter the castle, you'll have the following powers sealed:
The seal is lifted if you leave the castle. To unseal the powers within the castle you must defeat various bosses. Each boss you defeat will allow you to unseal one power of your choice. At the top of the staircase just as you enter is the first boss: Sphinxaur. Instead of going through the door at the top of the stairs head right. In the Stairway Hall, descend the stairs and head north through the door. In the Art Gallery, check the large painting on the left to find that the title is unreadable. Examine all of the smaller paintings, 4 on the 1st floor, 8 on the upper level. Go back down and examine the large painting again. Choose VIVIDARIUM, INTERVIGILIUM, VIATOR for the title. A new boss will appear: Trauma. Go out the north door and then down into the Flood Gate. Exit through the northwest door to find yourself in the Prison Cell. Grab the Prison Key from the statue holding it in the foreground to fight the next boss: Red Giant. Go back to the entrance Hall (or switch to your other party) and go through the north door. Step onto the chandelier which will drop you down to the Grand Hall. Examine the hatch on the floor and choose to open it to enter the Wine Cellar. At the bottom of the circular stair, you'll find another boss: Tri-Point. Go back up to the Grand Hall and head through the north door. In the Courtyard, search the ground on the left side of the fountain to find the Treasure Vault Key. Continue north through the Courtyard to reach the Chapel. Go to the organ at the front and examine it to play it. Press all the keys at once. Go up the stairs on the right to see a key fall off the walkway. Go back to the Grand Hall and use the door on the left to return to the entrance Hall. Return to the Flood Gate and exmine the sparkly object in the water to find the Armory Key. Use it to unlock the door to the northeast. Inside is another boss: Gargantua. Return to the entrance Hall once more and leave through the upper left door. Go down the stairs and out the north door. Check the left side of the Passageway to find the Treasure Room. Inside are 4 boxes - your goal is to get them all open at once. Examine them in this order: far left, far right, middle left, middle right. After they are all open the next boss appears: Catoblepas. Continue north down the Passageway and in the Elevator Hall, step onto the left hand elevator. Make sure your party has at least 2 females then switch to the other party. Using your 2nd party, head to the Art Gallery and then north. Go up the stairs and left down the Passageway to reach the upper level of the Elevator Hall. Step onto the elevator with the 2nd party, which should have at least 2 males, to make the left elevator rise. Switch to the other party again and exit out the door on the upper left. Pick up the Floodgate Key on the foor of the Storage Room. Go back out to the elevator and switch parties again. Both parties will now be on the lower floor of the Elevator Hall. Go back to the Flood Gate and use the key on the lever next to the northwest door. Examine the lever again to close the gates and stop the water. Using your secondary party, go to the bottom floor of the Grand Hall and step on the switch below the chandelier. Switch to your primary party and head north from the entrance Hall across the chandelier which will not fall this time to the Terrace where Krysta is waiting. Go to the Chapel and head up the right staircase, across the bridge and up the circular stair of the Clock Tower until you reach the swinging pendulum. Grab it to swing across to the ledge just below the exit at the top of the staircase. Go out the door to find Tiamat. Swing back over to the staircase and climb to the top. Go out through the gears to the clock face. Run across the hands of the clock and climb down a couple of ladders to reach the Master Room. Approach the door and choose to "Get it over with" to commence the final sequence of battles. |

Your battle begins with Ultimecia (I). Note that during this entire sequence of battles, if one of your party dies and is left dead for too long that person will be removed permanently and one of your reserve party will take their place until you run out of reserves. After beating on her for a while she will summon Griever. After defeating that, Ultimecia will combine with Griever and attack again: Ultimecia (II). After defeating that monstrosity, you'll face the final boss: Ultimecia (IIIa) (top half) / Ultimecia (IIIb) (lower half). Enjoy the ending! |
