  • Flaws final fantasy X
Found a flaw in your FF-X section, you CAN customise Dark Matter onto your armour.
You get the Ribbon effect on it!
I found many armours with ribbon when i killed the Dark Aeons, and was hell of confused when I read on your page that there was no Ribbon abilitie.
After I got 99 Dark Matter I found in my customise-meny the Ribbon abilitie (armour only)!
    :P

  • Only in International Version
The Ribbon ability only exists in the International version, which is why it is not included on this site.

This website doesn't suck. . . it's helped me out tonnes . We don't see you using your free time working hard to help anyone, give him a break he makes one flaw and everyone hops on board to throw it in his face
      By: HolyFuck on May 29, 2009 02:05:46
      • Re: ...and
Technically it's not a flaw, Ribbon is only in the International version. I presume Ribbon was left out to avoid confusion of non-international version players. I agree with you, though. If you don't appreciate the website then don't come here. :)

  • Not just dark matter
And the dark matter is also used for break damage limit. It is not just dark matter that is missing the weapon/armour customisation, it seems to be all the items. In the abilities pages it says what items to use to acquire that ability, but not the other way round. Should really fix that up, it's the only flaw in the site

99-dark matter = Ribbon in armor
    By: mike on Feb 12, 2007 11:02:51
  • another use...
the other use for dark matter is that you can get the Ribbon upgrade for your armour. Ribbon will protect you from nearly all status effects. (eg: death, poison, confusion.) Meaning that you perfect armour will need this along with Brake Hp Limit, Auto-life, Hp+30% and Ribbon.
    By: Yoshi on Feb 14, 2007 12:02:56
  • more on ribbon...
You need 99 darkmatter to upgrage your armour with ribbon. It protects against everything except breaks ( full break, power break,..) and curse. Still this is the best upgrade.

  • Land worm or Sand Worm PAL or NTSC
Is it a Sand Worm or a Land Worm in the North American Version? Is that PAL?
    By: TheTrekhippy on Mar 07, 2007 12:03:59
    • Re: Land worm or Sand Worm PAL or NTSC
no, Land Worms and Sand Worms are different. Sand Worms are in Sanubia Desert, and Land Worms are found inside Sin beyond the Point of No Reutrn

  • Various
For the latest comment, it is Land Worm, but it only appears in the final stretch, when you're past the point of no return, so for most that's not going to be much use.

To Yoshi, technically speaking, the ultimate armour for your characters is counted as being any one which has HP and MP break (this on the grounds that the 'endless road' and equivalent titles have absolute priority over any other title you might also fit), though universally, folk agree that Ribbon should take up a slot as well. Many forego MP break, because it's not really necessary, but I'm a traditionalist.

I always found Auto-Haste to be a good round-out to the final armour. As for HP +30%... If you max out your sphere grid (and I mean replace all non-max spheres with max ones), your characters will end up with HP in the vacinity of 50,000... isn't that enough? If not... you can use items or rikku's equivalent mix to double that to the absolute max of 99,999 Hp.

  • Just one thing...
Ribbon does NOT protect from death, curse and breaks.
    By: Omegaweapon on May 04, 2007 07:05:22
  • Endless Road
does anyone knows where i can get the endles road, or any other armour that has the abilitie: Break HP limit and Break MP limit???

  • US vs. PAL/INT'L versions
I really wish there were a listed option to distinguish what version we are all playing. Perhaps also how many HOURS we've put in so far. I still do not understand Ribbon or Endless Road as terms used in the US version. I do not believe they exist. Before I found this site I was extremely confused by many others about Dark Aeons. I was also excited to battle them and Penance also. So disappointed about many things. Now, must track down the DVD bit connecting X to X-2. I'm only 104hrs in... loads more to go!

  • An aside
This just to clarify, to omegaweapon a few posts back:

Ribbon will protect against death magic, and similar things (Like the Megadeath ability, for example) However, it does not protect you from Doom, or from 'auto-death' style effects, such as the Tonberry's knife at close range; attacks that kill you, but have no damage flier.

  • Jesus christ these are hard to come across.
Seriously, you have to sit and kill Monster Arena creations for hours just to get like 5 of these.
    By: elektr1k on Oct 21, 2008 06:10:22
  • any ohter way?
this sounds superhard judging that Monster Arena fiends have a tiny possibility of dropping only 2 Dark matters. Are you sure it cant be found anywhere?
    By: fantasm on Nov 29, 2008 09:11:46
  • Monster Arena
You don't say howto get it from the arena. You should edit that in.
By: Jimmy Lemmon on Dec 15, 2008 03:12:02
  • dark matter
dark matters are rare drop from the "original monsters". if you do "overkill" they'll drop 2 of them.

dont bother trying to get dark matter for break damage limit getting the celestial weapons are much easier.
    By: heh on Mar 14, 2009 08:03:58
    • DM's or CW's
The celestial weapons are not "much easier" to acquire. It depends whether you want to take the insanely boring or insanely difficult route. Lulu's and Tidus' would be two perfect examples. Throw in Kimahri as well for good measure.
