On my 4th way through this game I've bribed Ultima instead of killing him the last three times for the Pendulum and you only receive 60, not 99 =[

In my opinion it's not really worth it to bribe it unless you have a difficult time defeating it.
You can get 30 pendulums in the chocobo race at Remiem temple, which is enough to put master thief on a character.

A easy way of getting free Door to Tomorrow's is have a character with auto-phoenix + potion (unless your a really high level) and auto-haste, cast slow on all your other characters and just spam steal, after you get some, 4 - 6 steals later you can get some more :)
