Th'uban is suprisingly vulnerable to Doom, one of Kimarhi's overdrives. Is very useful, if you can stay alive for that long (:

beat him solo if you like...
to beat him you first need ribbon or at least cunfuse and sleep proof auto protect and auto haste help ALOT beause he cant dispell auto abilites but you can get by without them quickhit or regular hit as much as possible he uses a very predicta ble attack pattern it goes like this .. attack, rainbow(this is why u need confuse proof and sleep proof),protect(if you dont dispell next time is shell then finaly reflect)then convergance. he counters everything his counter hits all party members and dispells all effects. to survive convergance use auto life on your LAST turn before his (only on the turn before convergance unless your realy weak)cnvergance only hits one target so you can skip the auto life and go for auto pheonix if you want remember his counter dispells and hits ALL party members so useing haste on yuna so she can heal the attackers will be just as useless. i advise you dispell protect as soon as he uses it otherwise your gonna be significantly weaker.

species
Perhaps you need to beat all of a species (i.e. all flans instead of just one type of flan) to unlock this guy.

Can't get him!
I've completed TEN species but I still haven't unlocked him, do I need to complete 6 species in one area to get him or what?

Notes
Th'uban's counter-attack hits all characters for substantial damage, dispels all buffs, and inflicts curse. This makes it pretty much pointless to cast spells like Haste, Protect, or Auto-Life that are a centerpiece of your strategy in other battles.
One of his attacks damages all characters and randomly inflicts darkness, silence, confusion, and sleep (more?)
The crippling status effects and substantial damage to all party members makes this a very good time to take advantage of aeons.
Th'uban will counter Slow by casting Haste on himself and occasionally will spend his turn to cast Protect. Fortunately, he doesn't counterattack Dispel.
Convergence inflicts 99,999 damage but only to one character.

Th'uban
Customizing armor with Auto-Phoenix will save you a lot of grief fighting in the Monster Arena. Keeping at least 2 alive at all times is necessary when fighting this guy as well or it's lights out.

Th'uban
He counter attacks EACH of your attack and when he uses "Convergence" you're doomed. It damages 99,999 and auto-life wont revive you.
