The best way to earn GP is to win Chocoboraces or buy it from the guy at the entrance (you can walk into the Gold Saucer and walk out many times, when hes is there buy some GP)

You can earn up to 500 GP per prize depending on if you win a materia or a good item such as Megalixir or Elixir from the Chocobo Races. I wouldn't recommend you try betting on Chocobos though. It can become exceedingly difficult if you have no clue what you're doing. I'd say you can get from 100-500 GP for the good items. I had a GP tree tpyed out someplace though.
