Chapter 1: Luca (Prologue) |

The game starts with a battle: Rikku and Paine vs. ???? and 2 Goons. After a few rounds, ???? will flee. Chase her around the docks while battling hordes of Goons and She-Goons. The longer you take, the more battles you'll have to fight. At Dock 2 you can find a crouching moogle. Examining it will restore your HP and MP. When you reach the 3rd dock, Yuna will join you for a battle with Logos (Luca) and Ormi (Luca). Afterward Leblanc (Luca) will give you the Songstress dressphere and reveal herself. You get your first Mission Complete! |
Chapter 1: Celcius (Introductions) |

Talk to everyone onboard the Celcius to get introductions. Buddy will give you an Al Bhed Primer and Brother will give you 3 more when you talk to them. Talk to Shinra and view the entire Using Garment Grids tutorial to receive the Vanguard grid. Talk to him again and view the Journey's Start Treasure Sphere. Go to the Cabin and speak to the Hypello Barkeep and choose to Rest. When you wake up, return to the Bridge and head to the front. |
Chapter 1: Gagazet (Floating Ruins) |

Follow your teammates and pickup the Yellow Ring in the chest below the ledge. Go down the stairs past the save sphere and take the elevator down. Hop down past the waterfall and go left to find a chest with an Elixir. Climb up the right side to meet up with Leblanc again. After defeating Ormi (Floating Ruins), Logos (Floating Ruins) and Leblanc (Floating Ruins) the Outrun the Leblanc Syndicate! mission will begin. Upon completion, go back outside to return to the Celcius. |
Chapter 1: Celcius (First Treasure Sphere) |

Talk to Shinra to recieve the Black Mage dressphere. You'll now be able to visit locations in any order you'd like. There will be two initial hotspots at Besaid and Zanarkand Ruins. |
Chapter 1: Kilika |

You can explore the town, but you will not be able to go past the gate into the forest until later chapters. On the upper left side of the Residential Area, you'll find Dona's house. After Bartello runs out, go inside to get reaquainted with Dona. On the lower right level of the Dock is a women with a Squatter Monkey who wants you to help her collect more. Speak to her to begin the Find the Monkeys sidequest. You cannot complete it now however, because you can't yet get into the forest. In the southeast corner of the Residential Area is a cameraman. Talk to him and choose "Okay, thanks." to look at the new Youth League base (this will help you get a rare accessory later in the game). |
Chapter 1: Luca |

Upon arriving you'll immediately begin the Behind the Scenes mission. After completing it, you can return to pick up a few treasures. Go down into the right basement of the stadium to greet Rin who will give you an Al Bhed Primer. Leave and go to the left basement. Talk to the little guy with the funny mask and choose "Tell me the rules!". He'll give you Helm x5, Zurvan x5, Coyote x5 and Flan x5 coins to start you off and then go through a tutorial. |

Chapter 1: Mushroom Rock |
---|
Go forward until Yaibal speaks to you. When he asks if you want to help, answer "Sure, we're game." Be sure to speak to Clasko and then proceed to the Ravine Path where the Foggy Fiend Frenzy! mission will begin. When it is complete you'll be at the HQ Lift. Ride the elevator up to Youth League HQ. Go all the way forward and speak to Lucil twice. On the right, talk to Maechen who is sitting on the ground and choose "By all means." When he's done talking choose "Of course" to shake his hand. Return to the south end of Mushroom Rock and speak to Clasko again. When he asks to ride on your airship answer "The more the merrier!" Return to the Celcius, speak to Shinra and view the new Crimson Report 1 treasure sphere. Go to the Cabin and talk to Clasko once more. |
Chapter 1: Djose |

Wait for your turn in the line on the right. Go inside the hut and choose "I want to dig!" after talking to the guy at the counter. The guards at the temple will let you in now. Inside the temple, Gippal will ask you to follow him and you'll get an Al Bhed Primer. Go out and south until you run into Gippal again. Answer "We're sure." when he interviews you and he'll give you the Letter of Introduction. |
Chapter 1: Moonflow |

You have some choices to make for this section. If you are shooting for 100% story and the Mascot dressphere (Mascot - Moogle, Mascot - Cait Sith, Mascot - Tonberry), you must speak to Tobli and then compete the Shave the Hypello? mission perfectly. If you want to obtain Minerva's Plate, you must complete Shave the Hypello? mission before speaking to Tobli. If you want to obtain Enterprise, you must not even attempt the mission or speak to Tobli at all. Assuming you are going for 100% story: Speak to Tobli who's running around to the right. Go south until you see a Hypello with a cart. Speak to the Hypello to start the Shave the Hypello? mission. After completing it, you'll be able to ride the shoopuf. |
Chapter 1: Guadosalam |

The only thing to do here is visit the entrance to the Farplane. You will never be able to enter it through here however. |
Chapter 1: Thunder Plains |

Nothing to do here except loot chests, but you must at least visit it to get the story percentage. |
Chapter 1: Macalania |

Go forward and listen to Bayra speak about the woods. Take a right from here and then go northeast. At the crossroads, go south to the Springs and speak to Donja. Return to the entrance and walk up the shining path on the left this time. When you come to the end of the path, go south into the woods and follow the path until you meet Pukutak. Return to where you got off the shining path and head north, taking the right fork. At the spring, approach Trommell and then speak to him three more times until he gives you the Full Throttle dressphere and Unerring Path grid. Go back to the fork and take the northwest path to reach the travel agency. After a scene with some Al Bhed you'll recieve an Al Bhed Primer. O'aka will appear and then flee back into the woods. When you go back into the woods the Follow That O'aka! mission will start. Afterward if you didn't turn O'aka in, when you return to the Celsius, he'll be in the Cabin. He'll have a hefty debt that you'll need to pay off before the end of Chapter 2. If you do, then he'll drastically reduce his prices. This allows you to buy from him and sell to the Barkeep for a hefty profit (effectively granting you an unlimited supply of free gil). |
Chapter 1: Bikanel |

Follow Rikku until you are picked up by the Al Bhed and taken to the camp where you'll receive an Al Bhed Primer. There's a merchant next to the save sphere. If you have the Letter of Introduction, head to the upper right and then go left a bit to where there are two Al Bhed facing each other. Speak to them both twice and Nhadala will arrive. Talk to her and give her the letter. Afterwards, you'll start the Can You Dig It? mission. From now on you can return here to dig for more items. It is best to avoid doing much digging until Chapter 5 as it may cause you to lose some story percentage. |
Chapter 1: Bevelle |

Enter the city and head towards the temple. After meeting Baralai, enter the temple and ride the elevator up to the next level. Speak to Baralai again and he'll give you a Tiara. |
Chapter 1: Calm Lands |

There are several games to be played here. Lupine Dash is in the southwest, Sky Slots is in the north, and Reptile Run is in the northeast. At any one of these spots, speak to one or the other of the persons there, choose "Publicity Menu" and sign up to start the PR portion of the PR Campaign / There Goes the Bride sidequest. Go to the travel agency in the center. You can ride the hover there, but it'll cost you 10 credits If you ride the hover 10 times, you'll recieve the Calm Lands Discount Pass which gives you a 5 credit discount on hover rides. Speak to the man to the right of the counter and answer "Do I ever!" then "Why not!" to begin the Bride portion of PR Campaign / There Goes the Bride sidequest. |
Chapter 1: Gagazet |

During the first scene with Kimahri and Garik choose "We'll take care of Lian and Ayde." Afterward, speak to him twice more and choose "You have to learn to deal with these things!" If you do not choose the correct responses when speaking to Kimahri you will not get the Trainer dressphere (Trainer - Kogoro, Trainer - Ghiki, Trainer - Flurry) later on. Speak to the rest of the Ronso there using the following responses when appropriate: "Leave it to the Gullwings!", "I can imagine how you must feel...", "I will never forget their sacrifice.", "I'm sure you're right.", "I wouldn't forgive them, either." Take the teleporter to the Fayth Scar and speak to the Ronso there, answering: "A change for the better, I hope." If you answer them differently, then the Battle Blockade mission in Chapter 3 will be a little harder and events will turn out a little differently in Chapter 5. |
Chapter 1: Besaid |

Head into town and after speaking to Wakka, you can explore the town. If you ask the shopkeeper "Any rare finds?" she'll offer to sell you the Besaid Key for 900000. If you don't have the money for it now, you can obtain it later. In the middle house on the right, speak to Lulu. After chatting, go back to her house, speak to her again and answer "Yes, I'd love to." When you wake up, find Lulu outside and speak to her once more. Answer "We're on the case!" to begin Where's Wakka? mission. You can also do the Besaid Search sidequest if you bought the Besaid Key, however it can be done at any point in the game. |
Chapter 1: Zanarkand |

The Claim the Treasure Sphere! mission will start automatically when you arrive. As soon as it's finished you'll return to the Celcius. |
Chapter 1: Kilika (Awesome Sphere) |

Once you have completed Where's Wakka?, and Claim the Treasure Sphere! you'll be sent immediately to Kilika. When you go to the gate to the woods, you'll be let through automatically and the Awesome Sphere Heist! mission will begin. |
Chapter 2: Celcius |

Back onboard the Celcius, talk to Shinra and choose "Sure" to view the sphere you just stole. Afterward you'll recieve an Al Bhed Primer. Speak to Brother and then go explore the ship. In the Cabin, speak to the barkeep and choose "Rest". Back in the hallway, speak to Daraya and choose, "Actually, I'm singing tonight..." to enlist them for your show. If you skipped the Shave the Hypello? and didn't speak to Tobli, he'll also be there with the musicians. Push Tobli into the elevator first, followed by Pukara, then Borra, then Daraya to receive Enterprise. If Tobli is not there, it doesn't matter what order you push them in. When the ensuing scenes are over, go to the bridge and speak to Brother. Choose "I've decided" and then select Youth League HQ or New Yevon HQ for your next destination. Some story elements will be substantially different depending on which side you choose, so if you've already played through once, choose the opposite side to get additional story completion percentage. If you are shooting for 100% story in one game, you must choose Youth League HQ. Some of the differences to consider when choosing:
When you return from delivering the sphere you'll find that Leblanc has stolen the Sphere Fragment and left the Leblanc's Sphere in its place. The Strip Search? mission will begin. Now is your chance to explore and do some more sidequests and optional missions. |
Chapter 2: Besaid |

Speak to any of the Aurochs near the save sphere and choose "You're on, Beclam." to begin the Run the Gunner's Gauntlet! mission. |

Go to the Square where Shelinda will interview you. Afterward you'll receive the Covetous grid. Underneath the stadium, you are now able to begin playing Sphere Break if you wish. |
Chapter 2: Mi'ihen |

You should pick up any chests you want and do any PR Campaign / There Goes the Bride before going into the Travel Agency. The part of the Highroad just north of the Travel Agency will be closed off for the remainder of the chapter once you complete the mission. Enter the Travel Agency and then follow the girl who walks out to the edge of the cliff. Speak to her and when the chocobo appears, answer "I think I remember..." then "Of course!" to begin the Cuckoo for Chocobos! mission. Afterward, you'll be back onboard the Celcius. Go back down to the Travel Agency and speak to Clasko and Calli. Choose "All aboard!" to bring them with you. |
Chapter 2: Mushroom Rock |

If you gave the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League, when you enter Mushroom Rock - Ravine Path you'll be escorted to the lift to headquarters. There are a couple of Drowsy Ochus on the the path. If you walk slowly past them, they won't attack. Inside Youth League HQ speak with Elma and Lucil. If you gave the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon, when you enter Mushroom Rock - Ravine Path, the Who Needs an Invitation? mission will start. You will not be able to enter Youth League Headquarters. No matter which side you gave the Awesome Sphere to, visit the cave at the bottom of the ravine for a scene with Nooj after which he gives you Crimson Sphere 7. |
Chapter 2: Moonflow |

Go right and speak to Tobli and answer "Okay, sounds like fun!" to begin the YRP, the Scalpers Three! mission. |
Chapter 2: Thunder Plains |

You can do the Lightning Rod Towers mission by speaking to the Al Bhed kneeling at the tower near the Save Sphere twice and choosing "Maybe we can help?" You can also speak to Cid here if you responded correctly to him in Claim the Treasure Sphere!. |
Chapter 2: Macalania |
---|
Just up the path, speak to Tobli's assistant and choose "Shure, why not?". Now head to the spring and speak to Bayra there to begin Track Down the Troupe! mission. After the mission, choose "No" to stay in Macalania. Return to the entrance and speak to Tobli's assistant again and he'll give you the Bitter Farewell grid. He'll also give you Minerva's Plate if you completed the Shave the Hypello? mission without speaking to Tobli first. If you have not already, you can complete the Follow That O'aka! mission. The Travel Agency will only be open for business if you turned O'aka in to the Al Bhed at the end of the Follow That O'aka! misson. Inside you can have a chat with Rin. |
Chapter 2: Bevelle |

If you gave the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League, as you head north along the Highbridge you'll be forced to fight various battles with the guards. When you reach the entrance to the city, after one last fight you'll be thrown out entirely. If you gave the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon, you are welcome inside the city. Speak to Pacce and he'll give you a Cat's Bell. |
Chapter 2: Calm Lands |

As soon as you enter the Calm Lands, if Clasko is aboard your ship, he'll take off. Choose "Yes" to follow him to the Facility Ruins. Speak to him and choose "Sure, why not?" to begin the Clean Sweep mission. Afterward, speak to Clasko again and he'll give you a bunch of Gysahl Greens and Pahsana Greens. At the Travel Agency, you'll meet two young Ronso named Lian and Ayde. After speaking to them, they'll run off. |
Chapter 2: Zanarkand |

Go into the Dome and speak to Issaru in the Corridor to initiate the Operation: Monkey! sidequest. |
Chapter 2: Djose |

Visit the temple and speak to Gippal. He'll give you another Al Bhed Primer. A little south on the Djose Highroad and you'll encounter some of Leblanc's goons and the Two Birds, One Stone mission will start. |

When you arrive, speak to Nhadala first, then to the hover pilot twice and choose "Oasis" to begin the Water We Doing Here? mission. |

Speak to Kimahri twice and choose "You have to figure this out on your own." Then speak to the rest of the Ronso there using the following responses when appropriate: "He does seem very tired.", "Maybe the Guado really are to blame.", "And what of the Guado?", "What if the Guado retaliate?", "Please, try to think about it some more.", "Then...there won't be anyone left to fight." Also, take the teleporter to the Fayth Scar and speak to the Ronso there, answering: "They should take better care of the mountain." When you go south from the Fayth Scar teleporter, the Spring Into Action mission will start. |
Chapter 2: Guadosalam / Bevelle |

Once you have completed Strip Search?, beam down to Guadosalam. You can do the Data Dealer sidequest to make some fast gil if you like. When you're ready approach the Syndicate Headquarters and choose "Okay!" to begin the Faking and Entering mission. Afterward, Leblanc, Ormi and Logos will join you aboard the Celcius and you'll be catapulted immediately into the next mission: Infiltrate Bevelle. |
Chapter 3: Celcius |

Go to the Cabin and rest. Head to the Bridge where Shinra has a new invention: the CommSphere. You will need to get these placed in as many places as possible. |

As soon as you enter Luca, the Sphere Break Tournament will start. The CommSphere is installed just by visiting. |
Chapter 3: Mi'ihen |

As soon as you enter, you can begin the Machina Mayhem! by selecting "Let's do it!" when asked for help. Visiting Agency, Front will get Shinra to install a CommSphere there. Also visit Newroad, North and speak to him there about a second CommSphere. |
Chapter 3: Mushroom Rock |

As soon as you arrive, follow Shinra until he plants a CommSphere. Speak to him and he'll run off to the left. When you try to follow, you'll have a conversation with Yaibal and Lucil. |
Chapter 3: Djose |

To toward the temple to speak with Gippal. Afterward, you'll receive a Al Bhed Primer. You will not be able to enter the temple yet. |

Visit the South Bank to have Shinra install a CommSphere and then speak to Tobli twice. |

Enter the Chateau and go to the Living Room to speak to Logos and Ormi. Go upstairs and speak with Leblanc then go back to the Living Room and speak to Logos and Ormi again. Head down the Hidden Passageway to the second room. Logos will show you a couple of sphere videos and you'll receive Logo's Sphere and Ormi's Sphere afterward. Check the right side of the room to find the Gaol Sphere then speak to Maechen. |
Chapter 3: Thunder Plains |

In the South section, Shinra will install the CommSphere. You should also speak to Cid here. In the North section, speak to the two Ronso youths, Lian and Ayde at the shelter and tell them to go to Kilika. |
Chapter 3: Macalania |

As soon as you beam down, (or arrive at the Agency if you walked there) you'll start the Secure the Agency! mission. You must visit the South part of the woods and the Agency to have Shinra install his CommSpheres. South from the Agency, take a right to the Spring and speak to the mini-musicians near the water. After speaking to all of them, a fiend will appear above the water. Examine it to obtain the Howling Wind grid. |
Chapter 3: Bikanel |

After Nhadala speaks to you, go to the pilot and choose to visit the Cactuar Nation. Once there, speak to Marnela and answer "That makes perfect sense!" to begin the The Cactuar Connection mission. Shinra will install 2 CommSpheres: one as soon as you arrive, the other at the Cactuar Nation. If you visit the Oasis, you can sometimes run into a caravan that will sell you some excellent accessories. There may also be a treasure chest in the water that holds a Hi-Potion. |
Chapter 3: Bevelle |

If you gave the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League, there is nothing you can do here at this time, but you must visit in order for Shinra to install his CommSphere. If you gave the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon, you are allowed inside the city. Visit the temple for a scene. Now go all the way down into the Labyrinth back to the very large chamber where Vegnagun used to be. Speak to Pacce there and answer "Go for it!" to receive the Blood of the Beast grid. There are some chests to be found: They are covered in the Bevelle Revisited section later in this chapter. |
Chapter 3: Calm Lands |

If you beam down, you'll find yourself in the Gorge Bottom. When you approach the cave, answer "All right, we'll help" to begin Tourist Trap. Visit both the Travel Agency and the Ruins where Clasko and your chocobos are to have Shinra install his CommSpheres (go up the ramp in the ruins until you see Shinra). |
Chapter 3: Gagazet |

When you approach Kimahri, he'll give you the Trainer dressphere (Trainer - Kogoro, Trainer - Ghiki, Trainer - Flurry) but only if you spoke to him in both previous chapters and chose the correct responses. Answer "Let's go." to begin Battle Blockade. (Note that if you want to obtain the Key to Success in Chapter 5, you must not complete this mission.) This is the first time you're able to return to the Floating Ruins from Chapter 1, so you can pick up any chests you might have missed there. It can be reached by climbing up from the Fayth Scar to where the hot springs are and then continuing up to where the wind blew you back in previous chapters. Shrina installs his 2 CommSpheres automatically just by visiting the Mountain Gate. |
Chapter 3: Zanarkand |

Nothing to do except speak to Issaru in the Corridor. Shinra's CommSphere is installed automatically. |
Chapter 3: Besaid |

Go to the village and speak to Lulu in her house. Head into the temple and speak to Beclam to begin the Protect Besaid Temple! mission. Shinra installs his CommSphere automatically. |
Chapter 3: Kilika |
---|
Go to the right side of the Residential Area and speak to the guy with the camera filming the new Youth League base. Answer "Okay, thanks." to view the base - this is important for obtaining an accessory later. When you're ready, go visit Dona at her house. When you exit, answer "You bet I am!" to try to rush throught the gate. If you make it through without being spotted, you'll find a chest with Bushido Lore on the other side. All routes to through the woods to the temple are cut off. After visiting all three blockades, return to the south path where the girls will use the trees to bypass the blockades. When you reach the temple, the Pest Control mission will start. |
Chapter 3: Bevelle (Revisited) |
---|
This return to Bevelle must take place after Besaid and Kilika but before Djose. If you gave the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League this is your only chance to get inside Bevelle during this chapter. Even if you gave the Awesome Sphere to New Yevon, there are story events that only take place here at this time. Go to New Yevon Headquarters and ride the lift up. Outside on the wall, speak to the guys there to receive an Electrocutioner and a Hypno Crown. Go back to the entrance to Headquarters and go to the left antechamber. Examine the lower pedastel and then go back and take the lift which should go down to the Trials this time. Follow the instructions from the Bevelle - Chapter 2 section to reach the bottommost chamber again. After a scene with Gippal, Nooj and Baralai, you'll be attacked by a Malboro. Pick up the Crimson Sphere 1 afterward. |
Chapter 3: Djose (Revisited) |

As soon as you beam down or approach the temple after completing Protect Besaid Temple! and Pest Control, you'll begin No Way, Djose!. Afterward, there will be an extended scene during which you'll receive Crimson Sphere 2 and Crimson Sphere 3. Chapter 3 Complete! |
Chapter 4: Celcius |

In the Cabin, visit the Barkeep and choose "Rest". Up on the Deck, have a talk with Paine then return to the Bridge where you'll receive Al Bhed Primer II. Be sure to watch Crimson Record 2 and Crimson Record 3, then check the CommSphere Network. Watch Besaid sphere until Wakka shows up and talks to you. Watch Kilika sphere until Dona's done talking. Watch the Mushroom Rock sphere and listen to Yaibal (or watch the fish if you did not give the Awesome Sphere to the Youth League). Watch the Bevelle sphere and listen to Maroda. After watching the 4 working CommSpheres, speak to Buddy and then to Paine. Now you should view the CommSpheres again as all of them are now active. Keep on viewing them until each shows no new scenes (some scenes may take a while to start).

Speak to Buddy when you're ready. The only option is to go to the Moonflow. Once there, Where's Tobli? will start. Afterward, you'll be returned to the Celsius. There are new scenes to be viewed on the CommSpheres:
When you're ready, go to the Cabin where you'll do a little mini-game as a rehearsal for the concert. Press the buttons in sync with the beat to try and match Rikku's steps. The better you perform, the higher your score and the better your reward. You can try and play it the right way but it seems the best strategy for a high score is to just mash all the buttons like crazy.

Chapter 4: Thunder Plains |

Return to the Bridge and speak to either Buddy or Brother and answer "Let's land." Your only option is the Thunder Plains. As soon as you arrive, you'll begin Concert Clean-up. After the mission, you'll be back on the Bridge. Speak to Rikku, then Paine, then Brother and Buddy. When Rikku runs over to Shinra, speak to her again to get a view of the concert grounds. When Tobli shows up, speak to him and choose "On with the show!" After the concert, go to the Bridge and listen to Maechen then go to the Engine Room and speak to Leblanc to receive Crimson Sphere 5. Go back to the Bridge and speak to Shinra. Chapter 4 Complete! |
Chapter 5: Celcius |

Go to the Bridge to hear the discussion of what to do next. Remember to watch Crimson Record 5. Go to the Cabin, speak to Barkeep and choose "Rest". If you rested at least once in all the previous chapters, you'll see an interesting scene with Brother and Barkeep. Afterward, Barkeep will give you another option: Pet Shop that will allow you to change your pets' names. In the Engine Room, go all the way to the back past the chests. Buddy will appear and tell you the story of how he found the Celcius. You'll only get the whole story if your Story Completion Percent is at 75% or higher. Speak to Buddy on the Bridge to get the latest news. A Hotspot should appear for every destination. |
Chapter 5: Zanarkand |

It is best to visit this place first as events in some other areas may cause you to miss Episode Complete here. Just going here gets you Episode Complete. If Maechen is there, speak to him and let him tell his story. If you shook his hand in Chapter 2, he'll reveal the reason he knows so much. Most of the Dome is closed now but there are a couple chests that are accessible. |

Follow Wakka to the temple and then speak to him. Go to the beach, then to the dock and speak to Beclam to receive War Buddy Sphere. Go back to towards the Village. Before you get there, you'll run into Wakka. After talking to him, enter the Village and watch the next scene. Episode Complete! |
Chapter 5: Kilika |

When you enter the Residential Area, there will be a series of scenes. When you're back in control, head to the Pigrimage Road to see the conclusion and to get Episode Complete! You'll also receive the Tricks of the Trade grid. On the right side of the Residential Area, speak to the cameraman and answer "Okay, thanks!" to look at the completed Youth League Base. If you took a look through the camera in Chapter 1 and Chapter 3, he'll ask if you want to go visit it: answer "Definitely!" Once over there, track down the yellow 'X' moving on the mini-map to receive 5 Georapella Coins. There is also a chest marked with a yellow rectangle that has the Invincible in it. Speak to the man again to return. |

When you enter, you'll be given the chance to play Blitzball. Choose "Let's do it!" to play. Your role is reduced to that of a coach instead of actually participating. If you did Rin's Mystery in Chapter 4, when you arrive answer "Not at all." to be taken to the Travel Agency for the conclusion to the mystery. There are a couple of chests that are only accessible if you are riding a chocobo. They are both at Newroad, North. Stand on the chocobo feather on the left side where the road curves around for a few seconds. Select "Am I ever!" when asked to get Phoenix Down x5. Leave the screen and come back to the exact same spot. Wait for about 10 seconds and then select "Am I ever!" again to find Victor Primoris. Once you have uncovered the secret cave by sending a high-level chocobo here, you can do the Fiend Colony sidequest. The entrance can be found on Oldroad, South near the save sphere. |
Chapter 5: Mushroom Rock |

Follow the red arrow on the mini-map to meet Elma and Lucil. If you sided with the Youth League, speak to Yaibal and choose "You bet!" to begin Youth League Tournament!. Afterward, listen to Lucil's speech to get Episode Complete! If you sided with New Yevon, head to the HQ Lift and speak to Yaibal to get Episode Complete! If you sided with the Youth League, you are finally able to enter the Youth League building. Go to the observation deck and speak to Lucil to recieve Nooj's Sphere. You can also enter the Den of Woe if you have collected all 10 of the Crimson Spheres. If you are still missing two, you'll need to go to Bevelle and get them first from the Via Infinito. |

If you stopped Garik in Battle Blockade, you'll find the instrumentalists and the Guado in front of the chateau entrance. After Tromell explains, speak to him again to get Episode Complete! Return and speak to Tromell again to be granted access to the locked door on the right side of town. If you spoke to Lian and Ayde in Chapter 3, a Guado will give you Tempered Will grid. The chests contain Baralai's Sphere and Tetra Bracelet. If you failed to stop Garik in Battle Blockade, Tromell and the Guado will not be there. You will not be able to enter the locked room. Inside Tobli Productions, there's a chest that will contain an item dependant on your previous actions: If you completed all of Tobli's missions perfectly and stopped Garik, it will contain Kaiser Knuckles. If you didn't complete all of Tobli's missions and stopped Garik, it will contain Crystal Ball. If you completed at least one of Tobli's missions and didn't stop Garik, it will contain Key to Success. If you failed to complete any of Tobli's missions, the chest will not appear. |
Chapter 5: Thunder Plains |

Upon arriving, you'll begin A Fallen Genius?. Afterward, an Al Bhed will appear and give you an Al Bhed Primer. Also, a chest will appear where you were standing for the 10th tower that contains a Tetra Band. Answer "Yup, in the hole." to start the New Cave sidequest. After finding Cid in the cave go to the Deck of the Celcius to find him again then go to the Bridge to see another scene with Cid and Brother. |
Chapter 5: Macalania |

Go to the Spring near the Travel Agency. Speak to the lone person there then go visit O'aka and Wantz at the Travel Agency to get Episode Complete! If you turned Wakka over to the Al Bhed he will not be there and you cannot get Episode Complete. Go to the other side of the Spring near the Calm Lands. Walk to the edge of the water for yet another Episode Complete! You'll also receive the Ray of Hope grid. If you did not save the Guado, you will not get the Episode Complete or the grid. |
Chapter 5: Bikanel |

Continue with the The Cactuar Connection mission, go on to The Last Cactuar, and then finish with Showdown in the Sands. Episode Complete! If you send a chocobo to Bikanel (any one will do, but it will run away so don't send a good one), then the Central Expanse becomes available for digging. One of the prizes you can dig up there is the Desert Key with which you can unlock the chest near the save sphere to get the Horn of Plenty grid. Return to the Cactuar Nation to see a scene with Benzo and Marnela. You can also challenge any of the cactuar guardians again including Frailea. |
Chapter 5: Bevelle |

Go into the city and find Maroda to get Episode Complete! You'll also recieve Scourgebane grid. Go to the right chamber in New Yevon Headquarters to find the Kinderguardians. Step on the glowing circle to enter the Via Infinito. |
Chapter 5: Calm Lands |

As soon as you beam down if you got at least one of the companies to Level 5 in the PR Campaign / There Goes the Bride sidequest, you'll receive Episode Complete! Returning here, you can claim your prize for the marriage part of the PR Campaign / There Goes the Bride sidequest. If you watched the Calm Lands CommSphere until it was eaten in Chapter 4, there will be a chest behind the Agency with 50000 in it. After getting it, speak to the father of the bachelor, answer that you took it and he'll give you a Sword Lore. Speak to the three people to the left of the Save Sphere at the Travel Agency and one will give you Calm Lands Free Pass. You can now also begin the process of discovering the Ruin Depths. |
Chapter 5: Gagazet |

When you beam down, head south a little to witness Kimahri and Garik's conversation. Speak to Kimahri afterward. When he leaves, follow him up the mountain to the top of Mountain Trail (you can use the teleporter if you fixed them earlier). Find Kimahri and Garik again southwest of the Mountain Trail teleporter. If you completed Battle Blockade you'll receive Sacred Beast grid and Episode Complete! If you completed Battle Blockade and spoke to Lian and Ayde in Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, climb the Fayth Scar to the entrance of the Scar Cave. Speak to Lian and Ayde there to receive Conflagration. |
Chapter 5: Farplane |

As soon as you have gotten an Episode Complete in every location, you'll be treated to a special scene aboard the Celcius where you'll be awarded the Mascot dressphere (Mascot - Moogle, Mascot - Cait Sith, Mascot - Tonberry). Speak to Brother to choose your entry point into the Farplane. Each path is different but you'll encounter the same enemies no matter which one you choose. At the first large platform you'll have to defeat Shiva. At the next large platform, you must beat Mindy, Sandy and Cindy. The final platform that you reach will initiate a battle with Anima after which you'll receive the Immortal Soul grid. Here are the differences between the paths:
If you complete all of the paths, you'll receive the Megiddo grid. Afterward you'll find yourself in a field of flowers and you'll meet up with Leblanc and her sidekicks again. Use the save sphere to go back to the Celcius. Speak to Shinra, then go to another location on the ship (anywhere will do) and return to the Bridge where Buddy and Brother will be missing. If your story percentage is %70 or above, go up to the Deck to catch a conversation between Brother and Buddy and receive an Al Bhed Primer. If your story percentage is %80 or above, go to the Cabin to witness a family argument with Brother, Rikku and Cid. If your story percentage is %95 or above, go to the Deck to have a chat with Rikku. Speak to Brother to teleport back down to the Farplane Abyss and go through the portal. Step on the blue tile next to the keyboard to learn 3 notes and then play the keyboard, putting in the same notes. Find the blue tiles on the left and right paths at the fork for 3 more notes, but avoid the electrical discharges. Get the chest containing a Megalixir on the platform to the right of where the two paths join again. Go past the keyboard and down to the right to find another blue tile to learn a 4th note. Go back to the keyboard and play the 4 notes you just learned. Take the left path to a blue tile and learn 2 notes. Go back and take the right path. Jump off the right side to reach another blue tile and learn 1 more note. Follow the path up to the blue tile on top of the pillar to learn 2 more notes. Take either path forward until they join, then play the notes on the keyboard on the right. There's a chest near the keyboard with Turbo Ether x3. Go forward to meet with Gippal. He'll give you Paine's Sphere.
Follow the path onward and upward. Find Nooj and watch a long scene with your allies. Continue on to fight Vegnagun (Tail) then Vegnagun (Arm) with Node A, Node B, and Node C. Finally you'll fight Vegnagun (Core) along with Right Bulwark and Left Bulwark. Immediately following, you must defeat Vegnagun (Face) along with Right Redoubt and Left Redoubt. Then the final battle with Shuyin will begin. Chapter 5 complete! During the ending when you're walking back through the field of flowers in the Farplane Abyss, press [X] to speak to the Fayth child. Answer "Yes" when asked. After the credits, you'll be treated to an extra reunion scene. |
